Dec 3 – In the Loop

by Parker on December 1st, 2009

James Gandolfini of the Sopranos and the salty-tongued Peter Capaldi star in this scathing and wickedly funny British satire of US-UK machinations before their joint invasion of an unnamed Middle Eastern country. Sound familiar? Think Yes Minister meets Dr. Strangelove. Also starring Tom Hollander, Gina McKee, and Anna Chlumsky. Warning: Expect lavish profanity.

This enormously witty satire follows a British diplomatic staff as they fly to Washington to confer with their U.S. counterparts, who are secretly ginning up an invasion of the Middle East. — Chicago Reader

While In the Loop is a highly disciplined inquiry into a very serious subject, it is also, line by filthy line, scene by chaotic scene, by far the funniest big-screen satire in recent memory. — New York Times

This is our last film for 2010. We’ll be back January 21 for another 13-week series.
