This environmental action adventure and point-of-view documentary won the Audience Award at Sundance. Dolphin experts and animal rights activists lead a high-tech raid to expose a secretive international dolphin capture ring operating with official protection in a secluded Japanese cove.

Using hidden microphones and cameras, the dive team uncovers a horrifying microcosm of massive ecological crimes happening worldwide.

The Cove plays like the James Bond version of an environmental doc. It could also be viewed as a horror movie for the carnage it depicts. Yet it’s quite simply one of the year’s best movies. — The Globe and Mail
